The simple stripe pattern is enhanced by the use of a variegated yarn.  This is a great project to use up bits of DK weight yarn in your stash.  You could add as many different colored stripes as you want!

The classic anchor pattern is perfect for the beach baby in your life.  Work it up as shown in blue with white striped accents, or swap the colors and use white with a bright accent color (as shown in the beanie).  Whatever way you choose, you can’t go wrong!
